Sir James Paul McCartney, born June 18, 1942was popularly known as one of the lead vocalist & bassist of THE BEATLESafter leaving The Beatles, he launched a successful solo career and formed the band Wingshe has worked on film scores, classical music, and ambient/electronic musicproactive in advocating animal rights, vegetarianism, and music educationhave been taking part in projects to help international charitiesInstruments PlayedBass, Guitar, Piano, Keyboards, Drums, MandolinBeatles Era...He met John Lennon and the Quarrymen at the Woolton on 6 July 1957He & John wrote & collaborated on many songsPaul introduced George Harrison to John as to be the lead guitarist, though John refuses to, because of his young age, but he was convinced upon hearing George playTogether w/ Stuart Sutcliffe on bass & Pete Best on drums they formed the Silver BeetlesLater on he suggested the dismissal of Sutcliffe, due to his lack of musical ability playing the bassDuring their tour in Hamburg Sutcliffe left the band after the end of their contract, so Paul reluctantly took over bassThat time he bought a "now famous" Höfner bassWhen Brian Epstein managed the band he removed Pete Best in the line-up, and was replaced by Ringo StarrAnd the rest was history, they’ve made a remarkable performance all around the worldThey stopped touring after their last concert at Candlestick Park, SF, August 29, 1966So tired of the road tours, playing was not exciting anymore, they have the money anyway, though realizing its very unfair to the fans the band did quit playing publicThe Beatles concentrated more on recordingWhen Brian Epstein died Sir Paul made an attempt to be the leader of the bandThough his bandmates had not felt the same as his good intentionsHe should had lead the band not made the band his back, that was John pointed outThe band is collapsing, complications between ideas was evident, different musical influences building upSir Paul was more on the pop side, John was more experimental, George was in love with Indian music,and as for Ringo getting tired of being the last to askSgt.
